Michelle (Shelley) Kay Hecker, 61, of San Diego, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 10. A memorial service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in San Diego at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. She truly loved going on cruises; therefore her cremains will be scattered at sea.
Shelley was born on April 18, 1951 in Wadena, Minn. to Alfred and Berniece (Bahls) Lubitz of Perham. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Corliss and graduated from New York Mills High School in 1969.
In 1984, she moved with her two children to California and had lived in California since then.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Chris) Tockstein of El Cajon, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Jackie Lubitz of Rancho Penasquitos, Calif.; three grandchildren, Wade, Kara and Myles Lubitz, all of Rancho Penasquitos; one sister, Marcy (Bob) Anderson of Laporte; three brothers, Don (Jeanie) Lubitz of Verndale, Minn., Gerald Lubitz of Perham and Robert (Kim Anderson) Lubitz of New York Mills; four nieces, Danette Anderson, Tracey Olson, Tricia Lubitz and Brittany Johnson; and two nephews, Travis Lubitz and Robbie Lubitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Scott Lubitz.
