Mighty Mites fifth and sixth grade cross-country
Come be a part of the cross-country family whose boys team has been to state eight consecutive years and girls seven consecutive years.
The boys are currently ranked #2 in the state and girls are ranked #12.
Practices will be focusing on an introduction to cross-country. Each day will consist of light introductory running, running drills, race strategies, and lots of fun running games.
Be a part of the Amoeba Game, Marker Game, Relay Games, Banana relays, Caterpillar Crawl, Ultimate Frisbee with high school team, and two cross-country meets. Treats and Gatorade will be provided after each practice and awards on meet day.
All practices will meet at the track at 3:45 p.m. Practices will be done by 5 p.m., each day.
"We plan on being very low key in the approach with the kids. Having fun and participation will constantly be stressed above all else," said Head Coach Jeff Morris.
Workouts are intended to introduce running for longer periods of time (which very seldom get over 10-20 minutes in length at one time) stressing some of the basic fundamentals and techniques while learning to enjoy running.
