Moorhead tap water named tops in state taste test
MOORHEAD - Moorhead's drinking water made a splash this past week during the annual conference of the Minnesota Section of the American Water Works Association in Duluth.
A sample provided by Moorhead Public Service was given the 2009 "Best in Glass" award, beating out eight other cities for the recognition.
Water industry professionals attending the conference tasted samples from all nine competing communities before deciding on which tasted the best.
St. Cloud and Bloomington rounded out the top three. The other cities competing were Brooklyn Park, Edina, International Falls, Minneapolis, Plymouth and St. Paul.
Moorhead's water will go on to compete at the AWWA annual conference in June 2010 in Chicago.
