That honor group, which was released Monday, was selected by a national panel including NCAA II head coaches, sports information directors, members of the Football Writers Association of America, Metropolitan New York Football Writers Association, New England Football Writers Association and Philadelphia Football Writers, pro football scouts plus staff journalists of Lindey's Sports Annuals, The Sports Network and USA Football News.

This marks the 26th year USA College Football has named a preseason All-America team for NCAA II.

Muer and Sikorski were both first team picks while Roth made the second team on offense and joined Brees on the special teams list. That entire quartet was also named to the Beyond Sports Network's 2014 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Team last week.

Muer, a two-year starting offensive guard attained Beyond Sports Network All-America second team honors as well as a spot on the All-NSIC North Division first team one year ago.

Roth, a true senior who like Muer will serve as a UMD team captain this fall (he's the first Bulldog to hold a captaincy position for two seasons since 2008), paced the 2013 Bulldogs in both punt (14) and kickoff (18) returns and was second in pass receptions (39 for 356 yards and a pair of touchdowns) en route to being chosen to the All-NSIC North Division second team.

Sikorski was bestowed with All-NSIC North Division first team acclaim as a junior after finishing atop the team rushing charts for the second year in a row (1,260 yards and 16 touchdowns on 297 carries for a 6.4 yards per run average).

A 2012 All-NSIC first team honoree, Brees is entering his third season as the Bulldogs' primary placekicker. He racked up 81 points in 2013, connecting on 10 of 15 field goals and 51 of 58 extra points.
