Multiple crashes reported in OTC
There were at least seven vehicle accidents in Otter Tail County last week, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Wednesday, a two-vehicle accident took place at 7:58 a.m. in front of a certified auto care center on Township Parkway in New York Mills. There were no injuries. The driver of one vehicle, while making a left turn, failed to yield to the second vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
A second accident on Wednesday was reported at 9:42 a.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Avenue and Niggler Street in Elizabeth. A vehicle knocked over a fire hydrant during the overnight hours. The vehicle and owner were later located.
Less than two hours later that day, a single-vehicle rollover with injuries took place at 11:17 a.m. on Oct. 16, along West Battle Lake at 227th Street, north of Clitherall. Henning ambulance responded and one person was taken to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
The fourth traffic mishap that day took place at 4:32 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 10 and Minnesota Street, south of Perham. It was unknown if there were any injuries.
On Thursday, a vehicle was damaged at the Riviera Public Access between Long Lake and Otter Tail Lake in a hit and run reported at 10:31 a.m. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,700.
Also on Thursday, two vehicles sustained significant damage northwest of Perham, at the intersection of Highway 60 and 415th Avenue, at 5:56 p.m. The sheriff’s office said one vehicle attempted to make a U-turn and struck the other vehicle. There were no injuries and the vehicles were towed from the scene.
A third accident on Thursday involved minor damage to the driver’s side door of one vehicle. The incident involved two vehicles and took place at 7:18 p.m. on Highway 78 in the town of Ottertail.
