Six vehicle accidents were reported in Otter Tail County over this past weekend. No severe injuries were reported.
First, a car-deer accident was reported at 3:44 p.m. on June 6, at the intersection of Highways 8 and 75, north of Bluffton. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said slight damage to the vehicle was reported by the owner.
Highway 41, southwest of Vergas, was the scene of a vehicle accident reported at 11:44 a.m. on June 7. A driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer and accidentally struck two Emergency 911signs as well as a mailbox, the sheriff’s office said.
A second car-deer accident took place shortly after midnight on June 8, on the west side of Dead Lake, southwest of Dent. The incident took place near the intersection of Highway 35 and Brightwood Shore.
According to the sheriff’s office, Big Chief Road south of Fergus Falls was the scene of a fourth accident, reported at 9:32 a.m. on Sunday. A truck, unattended, rolled backward and struck two other vehicles, causing light damage.
Not long after that, at 9:55 a.m., a Dodge Ram was reported as being in a swamp north of Pelican Rapids, at the intersection of South Pelican Drive and 205th Avenue. No one was in the vehicle when authorities were contacted.
The sixth accident was reported to the sheriff’s office at 5:34 p.m. on Sunday at Scalp Trail, northeast of Vergas. A woman who was backing out of a driveway was struck by a passing vehicle along the roadway.
