Nate Welte: new NY Mills CC Board Member
The New York Mills Civic & Commerce Association (CC) voted unanimously to fill an open board seat at its meeting May 6.
Nate Welte, an attorney representing Peloquin & Minge, will serve out the term until Jan.
He has been in private practice in Minnesota since 2004 and handles a variety of matters including family law, real estate and criminal law. Welte is a 1995 Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow, Perham Rotary Club, Otter Tail County and Minnesota State Bar Associations.
The CC also voted to hire school groups to clean up after events like the trade show and corn feed.
Members voiced concerns that not enough volunteers were helping with clean up of long events.
Others said it would be a great way for groups like Future Farmers of America and National Honor Society to give a helping hand while raising needed funds.
In other business CC voted to donate $500 to the New York Mills Park Board in support of playground equipment in the Country View Estates development.
The next meeting of the Civic & Commerce Association will be June 3 at The Creamery in NY Mills.
