Naturalist conducts programs at Glendalough State Park
New Glendalough State Park naturalist Alex Watson will be conducting his first two programs at Glendalough on Thursday, June 24.
At 4 p.m. Alex will present "Bird Behavior: Dancing Romantics." Learn how to strut your stuff like our feathered friends, or just watch the naturalist try to woo the audience.
At 7:30 p.m., take a deeper look at Minnesota's owls, especially the Great Horned Owl, and find out why it is called "tiger of the woods." Both programs will take place at the newly remodeled trail center in Battle Lake.
June is birding month at Glendalough. Birding hikes begin from the Sunset Lake trailhead every Thursday and Saturday at 7 a.m. Eagle nest viewing begins from the trail center every Saturday at 10 a.m. A state park vehicle permit is required and can be purchased at the park.
