Neonatal Intensive Care Units 5K and Walk/Run in Perham Oct. 30
It is time to get moving and make Strides for Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
Head to Arvig Park, located on Highway 51 in Perham, on Saturday, Oct. 30. Registration takes place from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; the 5K race begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Family Walk/Run at 10:45 a.m.
This event is open to participants of all ages. There will be two age groups for both Men's and Women's 5K divisions, under 25 and over 25. The Family Walk/Run is also open to everyone and is a great way for anyone that does not want to participate in the race to get moving and support a great cause. The cost for the 5K is $20 for all racing participants. The cost for the Family Walk/Run is $20, but kids 12 and under are free. All paying participants will receive a T-shirt.
All proceeds benefit Ella's Halo, a Minnesota non-profit organization created to help provide some comforts of home to babies and families spending extended time in Twin Cities neonatal intensive care units (NICU). Life in the NICU can be confusing, frustrating and at times unbearable. It is a time when babies, parents and families all need extra comfort and care--that's what Ella's Halo is all about.
