Former executive director Katie Magozzi retired in June. A 12-member team comprised of members of the board, the Chamber and the community formed the search committee.

“We are confident that Nicole will make a positive impact to provide business growth and development to our community,” said Bob Seifert, president of the Chamber board. “We are pleased to find someone who has both the background in marketing as well as the practical experience as a salesperson to assist the Chamber in its initiatives to grow and thrive in service to its membership.”

Lalum comes to the Chamber from Ottertail, where she was director of sales at Thumper Pond Resort. Prior to that, she served as a promotions director in the radio industry at stations in the Cayman Islands and in Duluth.

Lalum holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and is a graduate of New York Mills High School.

She has also built skills in a variety of areas including marketing through traditional and social media, relationship selling, collaboration among organizations and event planning.

As a member of the hospitality industry, she has served on both local and regional tourism boards.

“I’m really looking forward to working with everyone,” Lalum said. “There are a number of outstanding assets here and I am thrilled to be joining the Chamber, to be involved in promoting this area and its businesses,” Lalum said.

“I am excited to meet with members and potential members to really discover what we can do for them.”

The Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is an organization with over 350 members.

The Chamber’s vision is to be progressive, successfully serving as a community partner to enhance and promote the Park Rapids Lakes Area as the ultimate destination to live, work and play. Find out more at www.parkrapids.com.
