New exhibit at ITOW Veterans Museum
The In Their Own Words (ITOW) Veterans Museum is beginning a new series of exhibits featuring full-length interviews of area veterans.
The exhibit will be set up in the entry of the museum where comfortable and free coffee is always available. Eventually the museum hopes to be able to provide portable DVD players that patrons could use anywhere in the building, or even check out if necessary.
Stop in to listen to the entire interview of Donald Simon, a Navy Seabee who served in WWII. Simon, who died recently, is the first to be featured for February.
In the coming months, the following full-length interviews will be featured: William Stoderl, Erwin E. Johnson, Verna Drummond, Al Bretz, Bill Swanson, Gerald Davidson, Ervin H. Johnson and Art Maleitski, all recently deceased. For a complete list of veterans whose interviews have been recorded please visit the ITOW Veterans Museum.
The ITOW Veterans Museum is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to preserving and telling the stories of American veterans. The museum is open all year. Winter hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information visit www.ITOWmuseum.org or call 218-346-7678.
