New York Mills, Minn., man held in alleged sexual assault of 4-year-old
A 21-year-old man from New York Mills was charged in Wadena County District Court with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a then-4-year-old boy.
The court complaint alleges Edward Allen Stout forced oral sex from the boy at a residence in Sebeka in late 2010. Last month, the boy told a social worker that Stout had forced the sexual contact with him at a relative's house, and soon after the incident, the child reported it to his relative.
Authorities interviewed Stout on March 30, and he initially denied having any encounter of the sort with the boy, saying he would "never do something like that." But under further questioning, Stout allegedly admitted he "tried it once but I didn't feel right," according to court documents.
Court records also said during a monitored phone call, Stout admitted to someone he was talking to that he had touched the boy as the child had described.
Stout's first court appearance was set for April 12.
