The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center will be a quiet place next month as it closes its doors for January.
This is the second year that the cultural center will be closed for the month.
Jamie Robertson, executive director of the cultural center, said that the center made the decision to close for the month because of a lack of foot traffic.
"It's kind of an uphill battle to get people to come to events in January," Robertson said, citing the cold winter weather and post-holiday withdrawals.
Robertson said that though the center will be closed, it will still host two events - an upcoming concert (details to be announced), and a reception for the current featured artists on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 3-6 p.m.
Robertson said that he would use the time to do grant writing, prepare for the Winter Festival on Feb. 12, and complete the schedule for the rest of the winter and spring.
