Norma Wenzel, 91, of Perham, passed away June 8, 2014 at Perham Health. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will continue from 1-2 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham. Burial will be in the church cemetery
Norma Lucy Ress was born on Nov. 30, 1922, the youngest of 10 children, to Gustav and Anna (Fischer) Ress in Manilla, Iowa.
On Dec. 16, 1943, she married Rockley Wenzel in Manilla, Iowa where they farmed for 16 years before buying a resort in 1959 on Little McDonald Lake outside of Perham.
Norma was extremely talented and loved music and crafts, and was an excellent seamstress and artist. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, however, were the light of her life.
Preceding Norma in death are her parents; her husband, Rockley, of 46 years; and eight of her siblings.
She is survived by her children, Diana Lenius of Perham and David (Alice) Wenzel of rural Frazee; eight grandchildren, Scott (Analou) Lenius with three great-grandchildren; Tammy (Steve) Glover with two great-grandchildren, Penny (Tom) Lenius, Shari Lenius with one great-grandchild, Kari (Andrew) Gwost; Danyelle (Darryl) Bartholomay, Ashley (Shad) Nunn with two great-grandchildren, and Courtney (Brooke) Wenzel with one great-grandchild.
