Northwoods Assembly again offers community Thanksgiving meal

Email

Northwoods Assembly in Perham invites the community to partake in a free Thanksgiving meal.

This will mark the 14th year that the church family of Northwoods has opened its doors to serve those in the community who either have nowhere to go, are shut in, or are working on Thanksgiving.

Last year, more than 150 meals were served.

The meal is made possible from donations from community businesses and private and church donations. Volunteers from Northwoods, as well as the community, cook, serve and deliver the meals.

There are three ways people can take part this year:

-Visit the church between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day;

-Order a meal to be delivered by calling 346-5433 or visiting www.northwoodslife.com. Once on the website, click on ‘prayer’ and input your address and the time you wish to have a meal delivered;

-Get involved as a volunteer. Call the church to help or donate.

Help will be needed on Thanksgiving Day as well as on the preceding Wednesday evening, Nov. 27, for set up, and on Friday, Nov. 29, for cleanup, shampooing the carpets and setting up for Christmas.

Northwoods Assembly has been serving the community for the past 19 years, ministering to the needs of the community through its events, food outreach and more.

The church is located at 945 W. Main St. in Perham.
