For $3,600, Ulteig will create a map of the city of NY Mills that outlines property plots, utility lines, and other details. Ulteig will create print versions of the map for the city, as well as an electronic PDF version of the map that the city can refer to as necessary.

"This map will become a good resource for the city," Ulteig engineer Jon Pratt said. "And it's easy to update and revise once you create it. That's why it's called a 'base' map."

City Public Works Director Roger Salo noted the absence of any electronic city plot or utility data, and said that the new Ulteig map would be very useful. Mayor Larry Hodgson agreed, saying that the plan for getting such a map made for the city originated three years ago, and the city was just now getting around to ordering it.

In other business, the city heard reports from all departments, and approved a motion to allow Salo to purchase three yield and 10 stop signs from Otter Tail County.

The council also reviewed financial reports from 2010, noting that with the exception of the fire department, which finished over budget, the city performed well financially.

The next regularly scheduled city council meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 4:30 p.m.
