NY Mills FFA group places at State Fair
For NY Mills FFA
The New York Mills FFA chapter traveled to Minneapolis over Labor Day weekend for the FFA Livestock Show at the 2012 Minnesota State Fair.
Chapter members who traveled to the exhibit were Isaiah Bauck, Brooke Hendrickx, Leah Bauck, Jenna White, Logan Milligan and Jake Layman.
They took with them 90 sheep, three beef heifers and one dairy heifer, along with two non-livestock exhibits: Red Clover Seed and Yellow Peas.
Bauck, Hendrickx, and Layman did exceptionally well with their sheep, taking home 23 Champion and Reserve Champion placings as well as Premier Sheep Exhibitor.
Bauck won Supreme Ewe for the third year in a row with his Dorset and won Reserve Champion Overall in sheep showmanship.
Hendrickx won ninth in the Carcass Class, and Champion/Best of Show with her Red Clover Seed.
White brought three beef heifers, had one place second in its class, and also won Reserve Champion Overall Beef Showman.
Milligan brought one dairy heifer that got first in class, and honorable mention overall. White and Milligan, who were stalled together, also received 2nd place for Cattle Herdsmanship.
Overall, it was a very good weekend for the NY Mills FFA Chapter.
