NY Mills library has raised $10K for new carpeting
After accepting donations and pooling the proceeds from various book sales and special events over the last couple of years, the New York Mills Public Library is within $400 of its fundraising goal for new carpet.
More than $10,000 has been raised in private donations and through annual Used Book Sales, a ventriloquist show and silent auction, and ongoing T-shirt sales.
To raise the last few hundred dollars needed, the library is now "passing the hat." People are encouraged to drop off contributions of any amount at the library before Oct. 20.
Checks may be made out to Friends of the Library and marked "carpet fund." Contributions are tax-deductible.
