NY Mills Santa Anonymous kicks off this weekend
The 2009 Santa Anonymous program will mark its 26th year and gets underway this week for the families of New York Mills School students.
The donation boxes will be wrapped and placed in community businesses by the NYM FCCLA high school students by Friday, Nov. 20. Donation boxes are at the following locations: Cenex C-store, East Otter Tail Credit Union, Dean's Country Market, Seip Drug, Hardware Hank, The Creamery, Mills Lanes, NYM Public Library, F&M State Bank and the NYM Post Office.
This year, Santa Anonymous is asking people from the community to consider adopting a family.
Participating in Santa Anonymous is an opportunity for families to make this a special Christmas to remember as they choose gifts and wrap them for their adopted family. To do so, please call 385-2109 or 385-3603 for details. The need is larger than ever and your help would be greatly appreciated.
New gifts for children from infancy to 18 years of age are needed, especially for teenagers. Money donations may be sent to Kay Tougas at 111 N. Broadway in New York Mills or deposited directly into the SA account at the F&M State Bank.
Last year, 57 families and more than 35 senior citizens had the holidays brightened through Santa Anonymous. The need this year is anticipated to be even greater and we ask you to consider adopting a family or donating your time to help.
Gifts will be collected on Friday, Dec. 11, wrapped on Monday, Dec. 14 and delivered on Wednesday, Dec. 16. Wrapping will be done in two shifts to enable more people to help. It will be 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the county office building. Please call the previously mentioned numbers if you are interested in signing up to help.
The Santa Anonymous committee thanks all of you in advance for your continued support and generosity.
