Members of the New York Mills High School Choir, along with the concert band, performed Monday during an end of the year concert at the school. Featured performers were Jacklyn Peterman and the trio of Katie Schik, Spencer Imsande and Lauren Bach.
On Saturday, May 2, the five talented youth participated in the Section/State music contest was held in Wadena.
Lauren Bach received a score of 37 and a superior rating for her solo "Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley". Spencer Imsande received a score of 34 and an excellent rating for his solo "Go Away From My Window". Jacklyn Peterman received a score of 35 and a superior rating for her solo "Caro Mio Ben".
The trio of Katie Schik, Lauren Bach and Spencer Imsande received a score of 38 and a superior rating for their performance of "Piu Non Si Trovano". In addition to the superior rating this trio also received a "Best in Site Award". This award is given to the solo or ensemble which the judge deems the best performance he or she had heard throughout the day.
