New York Mills went on the road Thursday night and suffered a 74-55 non-conference loss at Wadena-Deer Creek. W-DC led 32-27 at halftime, but outscored NY Mills 42-28 in the second period.

Adam Snelgrove led New York Mills with 23 points. Tristan Huwe and Isaiah Bauck each scored nine. The Wolverines had three players in double figures, led by Jordan Reed's 30 points.

The Wolverines (5-6) won last year's game at the Sports Center, 78-36.

B-H extends streak

On Friday, the Eagles returned to Park Region Conference play with a 64-53 loss to Bertha-Hewitt.

Bauck led Mills with 17 points. Tanner Wegscheid added eight. The Bears had a balanced scoring attack with five players in double figures, led by Jeremy Frethem and Jared Hoemberg with 13 points each.

B-H has won or tied for the PRC title in each of the past four seasons and have now won 15-straight over the Eagles.

Time off

After going on back-to-back nights last week, the Eagles will have had six days off before their game tonight (Jan. 21) at Pillager. NY Mills has won three in a row over the Huskies.

On Jan. 26, Mills will be on the road again when they play at Henning. The two teams split their games last season.

Jan. 28 will be a crazy night of hoops and wrestling. The boy's basketball team will be in the Sports Center against Menahga. The Eagle wrestlers will be in the high school gym for a dual match against Barnesville.
