The Trojans were dominant from the very start, and held a 51-21 lead at halftime. Mills slowed Sebeka down in the second half, holding them to 27 points. But the Eagle offense couldn't catch up, scoring only 15 points after halftime.

Sebeka, the defending co-champs of the PRC with Bertha-Hewitt, is ranked No. 3 in Class A and has now beat NY Mills in five-straight games.

Eagles hold off Bombers

The New York Mills boys got back on track Saturday afternoon with a 68-62 win over Section 6A rival Waubun.

The Eagles held a slight edge after a high scoring first half, 39-35. Isaiah Bauck and Adam Snelgrove each had 13 points before the break. Bauck would finish with 23 points and Snelgrove would end up with 20. Erik Tumberg was also in double figures with 10 points.

After going 2-for-8 from the line in the first half, NY Mills was 11-for-19 on free throw attempts in the second half.

Waubun (3-13) won last year's contest, 72-55.

Back-to-back wins

On Feb. 9, the Eagles capped a three-game home stand with a 56-52 win over Verndale at the Sports Center.

It marks the first time this year the Eagle boys have won consecutive games.

Mills beat the Pirates on Jan. 5 on a last second 3-pointer by Snelgrove. The two team's split last year, with each team winning on their home court.

Long break

After a nine day break, NY Mills will hit the road for a Park Region Conference game at Menahga on Feb. 18. The Eagles won the first game this season against the Braves in overtime on Jan. 28, 76-72.

Mills will follow that with back-to-back home games on Feb. 22-23 against a pair of Section 6A teams, Lake Park-Audubon and Rothsay.
