New York Mills had four girls in double figures Tuesday night as they improved to 3-0 with a 69-48 win over Henning. It was the Eagles first Park Region Conference game of the season.

Brittnie Menze scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the first half as the Lady Eagles built a 39-28 halftime lead. Menze was a perfect 5-for-5 from the line.

Alicia Boe hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 14 points. Hannah Rutten scored 12 points, followed by Sam Welter with 10.

New York Mills shot just 35 percent from the floor (27-for-76), but they got the job done on defense, forcing Henning into 28 turnovers.

The Eagles won both games against Henning last year and have won eight straight against the Lady Hornets overall. Henning was 6-18 last year (5-7 Park Region).

Next

New York Mills first road game will be Dec. 10 in Twin Valley against Norman County East. The NCE Eagles were 11-14 last year, 9-9 in the Pine to Prairie Conference (6th place). Mills won last year's game, 68-24, their third in a row over NCE.

On Dec. 15, the Lady Eagles will travel to Rothsay. Mills won the last contest between the two schools in 2008, 63-46.

The team's three-game road swing continues Dec. 17 at Verndale. New York Mills swept the Pirates last year and have won four straight in the rivalry.
