New York Mills Elementary School will be holding its 2013-2014 school year kindergarten information night on Thursday, March 21.
This special event is a time for the school to share its policies, curriculum and health information with parents, while giving kids a chance to check out the school.
Planned activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a light supper for parents and future students in the school commons. At 6:20 p.m., the students will take part in some special activities while parents remain in the commons for a chance to learn more about the junior kindergarten and kindergarten programs in NY Mills.
Parents will find out how all-day, every-day kindergarten works at the school. Needed paperwork will be explained and tours of the building will be given to those interested.
Kids will also get to tour the school, and will be able to participate in a story time and play time. Though it will still be too soon to know which room a child may be in, or which teacher he or she may have, this will give the kids a chance to find out more about the school in general.
Participants are encouraged to bring their other, younger children along that evening, as well. National Honor Students will be on hand to take the young children to a gym for activities while parents meet with teachers.
