NYM woman uninjured in crash
Sandra Rounsville, 58, of New York Mills, escaped injury after she swerved to avoid a deer and her car went into a drainage ditch, breaking through the ice.
The accident took place at 5:49 p.m. on Dec. 7, near the intersection of Highways 135 and 52, south of NY Mills.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department said Rounsville's vehicle went across the intersection, onto 540th Avenue, to the south of the intersection, landed in a drainage ditch and broke through the ice. The front of the vehicle, a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville, was slightly in the water.
The roads were icy at the time of the accident.
