2009 Sections: The Eagles were the No. 6 seed in the Section 6A tournament. They beat No. 11 Breckenridge in the first round, then lost to Pelican Rapids in the quarterfinals. Border West won the 6A championship and went 0-2 at State.

2009 Seniors: Jordan Novak (2-time state entrant, 2009 State runner-up), Jarrod Norton, Landyn Saewert (State Entrant), Josh Bernu.

Get to Know'em: Shane Novak (Freshman, 5th at State, All-Conference), Tommy Selander (Jr., 5th at Sections), Seth Hoffland (Jr., 5th at Sections), Maison Roberts (Soph., 6th at Sections, All-Conference, team's 2008-09 Most Improved Wrestler).

Strengths:

The Eagles have a young team led by dedicated upperclassmen with Jordan Novak leading by example. Filling 14 weight classes will again be a challenge but getting good experience through the regular seaon will be key. With some time on the mat, this team could be exciting to watch in February and March when it really matters.

Season Outlook: Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale and Browerville/Eagle Valley will be tough in the PRC. Mills and Parkers Prairie can challenge for the title. Border West and Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale are both in the preseason top-10 from Section 6A. New York Mills and Wadena-Deer Creek will be in the mix.

Coaches Quote:

"I really don't see any team standing out in the PRC or Section 6A. The teams that stay healthy and fill their line-ups will be in the hunt to claim those titles."
