NYM Youth Council to host community pancake breakfast on MLK Day
The New York Mills Youth Council invites the public to the Senior Citizens Center for a free community pancake breakfast on Martin Luther King Jr. Day this coming Monday, Jan. 19, 8:30-10 a.m.
The breakfast is being held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy of advocating for equal access to prosperity for all. The NY Mills Youth Council will provide breakfast to all who wish to sit at the community table on Jan. 19.
The youth council is aware of the fact that many families with children rely on free and reduced school meals to supplement their food budgets. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed that we all have a right to prosper in this land of plenty and also that we all have a duty to intervene when those among us suffer from a lack of prosperity. That is the reason the youth council is hosting this community meal in honor of Dr. King to provide breakfast for those in our community who might not otherwise get one on this day since there is no school.
