Officers search for robbery suspect

At press time Tuesday, area law enforcement officers were searching for a man who robbed the Deer Creek Express convenience store.

On Monday at approximately 9:30 p.m., an unknown white male entered the store, located at 320 E. Main Avenue, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask and blue jeans, according to a press release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

The man walked behind the counter and ordered the clerk to open the till. He took an undisclosed amount of money and left on foot.

The sheriff’s office said no weapon was seen and no threats were made.

The Henning, New York Mills and Parkers Prairie police departments responded to the scene, along with the sheriff’s office and a Fergus Falls Police Department canine unit.

As of Tuesday, no arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing.
