OTC COLA sponsors awards for lake stewardship
Do you have an energetic or enterprising individual who makes things happen within your lake association?
Does your lake association deserve recognition for their achievements in protecting and preserving your lake for future generations?
Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations (OTC COLA) is sponsoring two awards for lake stewardship-"OTC COLA Volunteer of the Year" and "OTC Lake Association of the Year."
People can nominate their choice of an individual or an association by submitting a two-page letter of nomination to OTC COLA before June 30, 2010. Winners will be announced at COLA's Annual Meeting on August 28, 2010.
The "Volunteer of the Year Award" will be given to an individual who has made a significant investment of time and talent, has demonstrated an ability to bring people together, or has demonstrated an ability to bring about positive change. The individual nominated must be a member in good standing of the OTC COLA, either individually or as part of a membership in a lake association that is a member of the COLA.
The "Lake Association of the Year Award" will be given to a lake association that has successfully implemented a lake improvement project or an educational or outreach program, has substantially increased membership participation, or has successfully partnered with local, county, state and/or federal government or other agencies. The lake association must be a member in good standing of the Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations.
