Otter Dazzle starts early, continues all day

With December now here, the city of Ottertail is prepping for its annual Otter Dazzle holiday celebration.

The festive Otter Dazzle Parade will take off down Main Street at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. Following the parade will be a winter fireworks display. Line-up for the parade begins at 4:30, beside Eckhoff's Village Inn. For more information, contact Kathy Wagenman at 218-367-3092.

On Friday, Dec. 5, the Lions will hold their community Christmas party at The Otter. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner following at 6:30.

Starting out the Dec. 6 Otter Dazzle event schedule is the Lions pancake feed from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. in the community center.

Other events held in the community center include a craft sale, from 9 - 2; cookie and long john decorating; a dazzle walk, from 10 - 3; kids games and crafts, from 11 - 2; free pictures with Santa Claus from 11 - 2; bingo from 1 - 3; and sleigh rides from 1 - 4.

Turkey bowling will also be featured, along with a dazzler hunt. The dazzler hunt is similar to a treasure hunt, with clues given at the community center. The hunt will go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The winner will receive $200 in Otterbucks.

At 6 p.m., a free will donation spaghetti feed will be held at the community center. Donations from the dinner will go to community families to help them with the holidays.
