The Otter Tail Coalition of Lake Associations will hold its June monthly meeting on Saturday, June 27, at the Ottertail Community Center beginning at 9 a.m.
Pam Anderson will speak about MPCA's Citizen Lake Monitoring Program and their Lake Water Quality Assessment Program. She has worked in the Lake and Streams Monitoring Unit at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency since 2003.
Pam started working with the Citizen Lake and Stream Monitoring Programs and in 2006 moved to lake monitoring and assessment. Prior to joining MPCA, she worked for the North Dakota Dept. of Health in the Total Maximum Daily Load program and for the Hawk Creek Watershed Project in southern Minnesota.
COLA is a non-profit organization established to facilitate cooperation among lake and river associations and assist in fostering wise use of the lake and stream areas. A major emphasis for COLA is water testing. Fifty-four member lakes participate in water testing, helping to determine trends in water quality. Additional information about COLA can be obtained through the web site: www.mnwaters.org/ottertailcola.
Lake property owners who would like to discuss forming a lake association, or who have an association and would like to discuss joining COLA, may contact Steve Johnson of the Membership Committee at 218-758-3707.
