Otter Tail lake group to recognize 4-H for water, wetlands efforts

For the second year, the Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations' "Empowering Youth Award" will recognize 4-H members who take an active part in water and wetlands education and projects.

To be eligible for the 2010 Empowering Youth Award, a youth must be a current member of a 4-H Club in Otter Tail County, and meet all of the following requirements:

4-H Community Pride Fair Award in Water/Wetlands, or

4-H County Fair Project Award in Water/Wetlands, or

4-H Records Award in Water/Wetlands.

The goal is to introduce ways to expand upon traditional and popular 4-H project areas and encourage 4-H youth, either as an individual or as a club, to enter into the Water/Wetlands program.

The 4-H Community Pride Award in Water/Wetlands is $50 cash prize to the top two clubs.

The 4-H County Fair Project Award in Water/Wetlands is $25 for Grades 3 through 8 and $50 Cash for Grades 9 and up. The 4-H Records Award in Water/Wetlands is $10 for Grades 3 through 5, $15 for Grades 6 through 8 and $20 Cash for Grades 9 and up.
