Otter Tail Power names new president
On Monday morning, at Otter Tail Corporation’s annual meeting of shareholders, Chuck MacFarlane announced that Timothy J. Rogelstad has replaced him as Otter Tail Power Company president.
As of Monday, MacFarlane assumed the role of president and chief operating officer of Otter Tail Corporation. He had been president of Otter Tail Power Company, the corporation’s electric utility subsidiary, since 2003, and its chief executive officer since 2007.
Rogelstad reports directly to MacFarlane in his new role as president of Otter Tail Power Company. As part of this new role, he also serves as senior vice president of Otter Tail Corporation’s electric platform.
Rogelstad, who was vice president of asset management at Otter Tail Power Company, joined the company in June 1989 as an engineer in the system engineering department and has served as supervisor of transmission planning and manager of delivery planning. He’s also been the executive in charge of delivery planning, delivery maintenance, delivery engineering, system operations and project management.
Among Rogelstad’s professional accomplishments are roles in the company’s CapX2020 transmission line investment, two major transmission projects in the Big Stone area of South Dakota, and an international transmission line from central North Dakota to central Manitoba. He helped develop Otter Tail Power Company’s first large-scale wind generation strategy and led an initiative to develop a methodology for prioritizing capital projects across the entire company.
Active in the community, Rogelstad and his wife Penny and their four children live near Fergus Falls.
