Ottertail auctioneer calls his way to Reserve title at state conference
Austin Bachmann of Bachmann Auctioneers was crowned Minnesota State Auctioneers Association Reserve Champion Auctioneer at the MSAA Conference and Show in Duluth on January 14.
The contest consisted of three different rounds and competitors from Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. The first round was bid calling only. The top five were chosen after the first round to move into the final two rounds. The second round consisted of a live on-stage interview dealing with industry-related questions. The third round was also bid calling.
Austin is 22 years old and is currently living in Ottertail. He works full-time with his father in the auctioneering and real estate business out of Perham (Bachmann Auctioneers and Bachmann Carow Real Estate Inc.), and part- time at Zorbaz on Little Pine as a bartender.
He was also elected on to the MSAA Board of Directors. Austin's father (Vince Bachmann) was the 1997 MSAA State Champion Auctioneer, and his brother (Andrew Bachmann) was the 2007 MSAA Reserve Champion Auctioneer.
