Parade & street dance Friday in New York Mills
The annual parade and street dance highlight the festivities Friday. The annual parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and takes a familiar route through town moving east along Centennial Drive in front of Central Park, north up Tousley, and west on Gillman, ending at St. Peter's Church.
Parade lovers and fishing enthusiasts alike are in for a little added excitement Friday evening.
The Lund Mania Fishing Tournament, held 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Otter Tail Lake, will announce the winning teams at the end of the parade. The top 10 teams in the fishing tournament will pull their Lund boats in the parade and stop in front of Central Park, where the winning teams will be announced.
The party continues at the conclusion of the parade when the street dance cranks up with music by Power Play in front of Mills Liquors.
