PERHAM -- An undefeated Pequot Lakes girls tennis team shutout the Yellowjackets 7-0, something the Patriots have become accustomed to this year. The shutout is the fourth of the season on record for Pequot Lakes. The victory is their 11th this season without a loss.

The Patriots have given up more than one match in only two instances this season, a 4-3 victory over Park Rapids and a 5-2 win versus Crookston. Perham drops to 0-3 in dual matches this season.

Suzanne Coleman moved from 2-singles to the number one spot to take on Kaycee Nelson. Nelson won the match two and three.

At two-singles, Ashley Silbernagel lost a close first set by one break of serve, 6-4, to Jaden Lindner before Lindner took the second set at love.

Chelsea Honer and Maggie Rennicke took out Perham's Ellie Heggerston and Nicci Hedtke at love to sweep the singles matches.

In doubles, much of the same, as Tricia Villella and Haley Wiebolt defeated Perham's Hannah Brenk and Paige Biegler one and love. Taylor Crocker and Carly Fyle defeated MaryAnne Kuebler and Rachel Wiskow one and one at two-doubles. Lauren Bengtson and Whitney Swenson took the third doubles match, 6-1, 6-1, over MaKayla Kroenke and Katie Howey.

The two teams will see each other Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Brainerd Invitational with host Brainerd and Roseau filling out the field.
