Payton Jordahl previews upcoming Gophers official visit, talks recruiting
PERHAM — All-conference running back, linebacker and long snapper Payton Jordahl is Perham's fourth recruit to start making official rounds in search of where to play next season.
The talent-heavy cross country team makes up the other three who have publicly announced commitments at the collegiate level.
Keeghan Hurley got this year's recruiting class started when he signed in late 2013 to run at Southern Utah University. According to Cross Country head coach Jeff Morris, Jayden Cullen has verbally committed to North Dakota State University and Ben Sullivan has committed to Concordia College.
Jordahl has narrowed his search to play football at the next level to three schools: the University of North Dakota, the University of South Dakota and the University of Minnesota, where Jordahl will make an official visit this weekend. He has an offer on the table from South Dakota and will visit North Dakota next week.
Jordahl rushed for 1,605 yards from 2010-13 and rushed for 19 touchdowns. On defense, he had 265 tackles, 116 solo, seven interceptions and scored twice on defense his senior season.
Jordahl was named all-conference in both his junior and senior seasons and has been long snapping since his freshman season.
