Pearl Lillian Gunn was born on October 30, 1920, to Mathias and Clara (Nicholson) Kallerman at their home in Bluffton Township, MN. She passed away on July 4, 2009, at age 88, at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.
Pearl was united in marriage with Loren H. Gunn on October 22, 1943, in her parents' home. She worked for Douglas Aircraft during WW II. As a homemaker she enjoyed cooking and baking, and sharing hospitality in her home. Her hands were busy with knitting, crocheting, and all handwork. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents and sister Elsie Kallerman. She is survived by her loving husband, Loren of Wadena; sons, Donald (Sue) Gunn of rural Wadena and Jerome (Wendy) Gunn of St. Michael; daughters, LaVon (Neil) Lown of rural Sebeka, Bonita (Arnold) Nordaas, of Takanosu, Japan, Karen (Daniel) Giesbrecht of Winnipeg, MB, Canada and Mardell (Mark) Kistler, of Haines, AK; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother Edward (Lorraine) Kallerman of Redwood City, CA; and sister, Irene (Chester) Erickson of Robbinsdale.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, in the Wadena Evangelical Church with Pastor Chuck Lamison officiating. Interment will be in the Pioneer Cemetery in Bluffton Township. Pallbearers will be Nathan Gunn, Calvin Gunn, Dane Gunn, Corey Giesbrecht, Travis Unger, Eric Levay, Aaron Spicer, and Sam Divinagracia.
All memorials will be given to Camp Jim.
