Pedestrian struck and killed at Minnesota rest stop

CARLTON COUNTY, Minn. - A 62-year-old Cloquet man was killed Wednesday evening at an Interstate 35 rest area in Carlton County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that it was called to the Mahtowa rest area off northbound I-35 about 5:30 p.m. It said a 2004 Ford pickup hit and killed the Cloquet man, who was on foot. The driver was a 55-year-old man from Duluth.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office said all details of the accident were going through the patrol.
