Pelican man running for House Dist. 8A
Jim Miltich, Pelican Rapids, has announced his DFL candidacy for Minnesota House of Representatives District 8A.
Miltich works as a safety facilitator at the Cargill corn processing plant in Wahpeton. He and his wife, Kayls, a kindergarten teacher in Pelican Rapids, have raised three children and have four grandchildren.
A musician who plays the guitar and harmonica, Miltich often performs in the area with his brother, Anthony, an instructor and popular musician from Fergus Falls.
A native of Grand Rapids, Minn., Miltich has lived and worked in the state for years, and understands the values of rural Minnesota. He believes that good policy and a strong community voice are essential to ensuring that rural communities have the tools they need to thrive.
Miltich advocates for quality education and updated infrastructure. He describes awareness of opportunity and the willingness to listen as critical qualities necessary to represent constituents effectively. He is looking forward to meeting and conversing with the citizens of District 8A.
