The Perham 14U Lady Jackets softball team won the Northern Lights League championship Saturday with a 5-1 win over Bemidji.

With that win, they advance to the Minnesota State Tournament in Buffalo, Minn.

The Lady Jackets were led by the strong pitching of Allie Doll, striking out 25 batters in three games and strong defense by a number of Lady Jackets. The Jackets used some timely hitting, nearly every Lady Jacket player recorded a hit over the weekend.

In the first game, Perham defeated Baxter 5-0 in the first round. Alex Lubitz was 2-2 with a triple and Haley Hunter was 2-2.

In the second game Perham defeated Pequot Lakes Blue 7-1. Annie Ingebrand scored all three times she appeared at the plate. She had two walks, two stolen bases and one RBI on a single in the fourth inning.

Chelsey Honrud scored twice, reaching in both her plate appearances via base-on-balls.

Perham needed only two hits to score the seven runs. Mattie Scheidecker had a double to go with Ingebrand's single as the only base hits in the game.

Pequot Lakes pitcher Haley Wiebolt issued six walks to go with two critical errors early by shortstop Laura Squires to open the floodgates for Perham.

In the championship game several Lady Jacket players had one hit in the 5-1 victory over Bemidji.
