Perham Baseball Win Streak Continues

The Perham baseball team continued their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of Wadena-Deer Creek Friday at Wadena.

The Yellowjackets won 8-5 in game one and blew out the Wolverines, 20-0, in the nightcap.

On the day, junior Jesse Hein was 3 for 4. He walked four times and scored eight runs.

Gabe Pankonin and Mac Link each had home runs for Perham in the victories and senior David Alstadt contributed by going 4 for 6 with five runs scored on the day.

Senior pitchers TJ Studer and David Stoll combined for the victory and save in game 1, while Hein and Ivan Nodsle combined for a two-hit shutout in game two.

The Yellowjackets have won nine consecutive games to improve to 9-2 on the season.

Perham is a perfect 8-0 in Mid-State Conference play, ahead of second place Detroit Lakes. The Lakers are 5-1. The two teams meet for a doubleheader in Perham, Thursday, May 19.
