Perham-Dent School District names Zimmerman as new principal
The Perham-Dent School District has a new principal.
Ehren Zimmerman, principal of Rothsay Schools in Rothsay, Minn., has been chosen to replace John Rutten as the new high school principal, said Perham-Dent Superintendent Tamara Uselman.
Zimmerman was chosen from a group of four finalists, narrowed down by the district earlier this month.
Zimmeran has been with the Rothsay School District for the past nine years, serving as the K-12 school's principal. For the past eight years, he's also worked as the activities director. From 1998-99, he was a part-time physical education teacher, moving into a full-time position from 1999-2010.
Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education and health education, with a minor in business from Concordia College.
The new hire will be approved by the school board in a special meeting at 5 p.m. April 6.
