Perham graduate selling T-shirts for Wadena High School
When Kari Hanson, a 2010 Perham High School graduate, saw the damage at Wadena High School, she knew she had to do something.
"The tornado blew right over us, that could have been our school," says Hanson.
However, most of the help needed requires heavy lifting, something Hanson can't do. So instead, she came up with the idea of selling T-shirts.
Joe Seifert designed the T-shirts, with a "From 1 School to Another" emblem on the front. "Joe did an awesome job designing them," says Hanson.
While the Perham Student Council paid for the shirts to be made, Mary Karkela, who helps run Student Council, claims that Hanson deserves most of the credit. "This is Kari's brainchild, her idea. She did all the leg work and the Student Council is just picking up the rest," explains Karkela.
The T-shirts will be sold at Tropics Tanning, The Cactus, and at the Perham Turtle Races every Wednesday. Other locations are yet to be determined. The shirts will be sold for $12.
