Perham group to help feed starving kids
A Perham group is forming to mobilize a massive effort to pack 200,000-400,000 meals in three days to help "Feed My Starving Children."
This is an effort that the entire community, all area organizations, schools, churches, community groups, families, and individuals, are being asked to get involved with.
An initial meeting has been set for October 30, at 7 p.m., to help inform and inspire those interested in helping with the "Feed My Starving Children" project.
A second meeting, for those unable to attend the first, is scheduled for November 2, at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Perham Library
The goal is to get a representative from each organization, and individuals from the community at large, to get involved in the core committee and attend one of the meetings. Karlie Miller, Ms. Perham, will be an honorary co-chair.
Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults alike hand-pack meals designed specially for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to more than 50 countries around the world.
In 2007 alone, 185,000 volunteers packed more than 43 million meals.
