Perham interchange project to begin Monday; expect some delays
The interchange and resurfacing project on Otter Tail County Road 34 and Highway 10 just west of Perham is set to begin Monday, July 23, and motorists should be aware that there are likely to be traffic delays.
County Road 34 traffic will be detoured onto County Road 125, Highway 108, Highway 78, 3rd Avenue SE and Main Street in Perham. Highway 10 motorists will encounter lane closures at the County Road 34 Bridge.
Crews will build eastbound and westbound exit and entrance ramps at the existing County Road 34 bridge over Highway 10. County Road 34 will also undergo improvements, including resurfacing between Highway 10 and Main Street and construction of shoulders, turn lanes, curb and gutter and a bicycle and pedestrian trail.
Work is scheduled to be complete in late September, weather permitting.
These improvements will greatly enhance access to the city of Perham and improve safety for all modes of transportation.
This project is being constructed through the Transportation Economic Development Program, which is funded by MnDOT and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development with local matches being provided by the city of Perham, Otter Tail County and private donations.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
