Perham man arrested for illegal sale of dock, boat lift
A man who was renting a cabin near Perham has been arrested for allegedly selling a dock system and boat lift that belonged to the property owner he was renting from.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office reported on Monday that the dock system and boat lift were sold illegally, and that Jay Loerzel, 31, of Perham, had been arrested on suspicion of felony theft.
The stolen items had been located on the north side of Little McDonald Lake, west of Perham.
“The suspect had been renting a lake cabin on Little McDonald Lake since last summer,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Matt McGuire. “The owner of the cabin stated that Loerzel likely sold a dock system and boat lift that were on the property that belonged to her.”
The dock system and boat lift had a combined value of about $4,000.
“The arrest was made on probable cause established through an investigation,” said McGuire.
