Perham man charged after high-speed chase
Joshua Gene Ard, 32, of Perham, will have another court appearance following charges of fleeing a police officer and child endangerment last month in Perham.
Until his next court appearance, Ard has been ordered to remain law abiding.
His case is being handled by Otter Tail County District Court authorities. As of late last week, no date had been set for his next court appearance.
Ard first appeared in district court on Aug. 13.
According to court records, West Central Minnesota Task Force deputies witnessed a drug exchange between Ard and another person near Perham in early August.
When confronted by authorities, Ard reportedly sped from the scene with two young children in his vehicle. Speeds ranged as high as 90 to 100 miles per hour. His vehicle was later found in Perham. Inside were drugs and cash, according to court documents.
Ard was later found and then taken to the county jail in Fergus Falls.
He has a prior conviction on his record after resisting arrest for his part in a bar fight in Perham two years ago, court records show. He was also charged at that time with fourth degree assault of a peace officer.
