Perham may see snow tonight

Perham may get some snow tonight with a 50 percent chance of light snowfall. Less than a half inch is possible.

Cold air sweeps in behind the storm as highs will only get into the mid-20s on Wednesday. The high on Thursday is forecast to only get to 21. The low on Thursday will dip to 8 -- the coldest temperatures so far this fall.

The brunt of the storm will hit counties near the Canadian border, with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

The heaviest snow is expected north of a line from Devils Lake through Grand Forks and East Grand Forks to Bemidji.

The National Weather Service forecast for Perham:

oday: A 20 percent chance of snow after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. West wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind between 13 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 25. North northwest wind between 11 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12. North northwest wind around 14 mph.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 21. North northwest wind between 14 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
