Perham softball blows out Crosby-Ironton

The Perham girls softball team got their first victories of the season pounding the Crosby-Ironton Rangers on the road, 19-2 and 15-1.

In game one, Steph Miller went 4-5 from the plate. Natalie Wierbos and Etta Scheidecker were both 2-5. Scheidecker swiped two bases and had an RBI.

Brita Sundberg did much of the damage from the plate. She was 4-5 with a double, a home run and six RBI.

Sophie Byer went 2-5 and knocked in four runs.

Ashley Silbernagel struck out six batters and walked five recording the victory.

In the nightcap, Sundberg got the pitching victory giving up no hits, fanning six and walking three. She also went 3-5 at the plate.

Wierbos and Scheidecker both were 2-5. Wierbos scored three runs and had a double. Scheidecker scored twice.

The victories up the Yellowjackets' record to 2-5. They face Wadena-Deer Creek Friday, May 6, at 4 p.m., in a conference double header.

The Wolverines enter the double dip with a record of 4-5.
